Who this is for
More Owner is used by boat owners in More Sailing's yacht management programme. Access is by invitation: your email address is registered by us, and the app cannot create an account on its own.

What we collect, and why
Your email address. It is how you sign in and how we know which owner you are. It came from you when you joined the programme.
How you use the app. Which screens you open, when the app is started, whether you turn notifications on or off, and the category of a document you open — never the file name, never its contents. We use this to see whether the app is being used, and where it stops being useful.
Errors. When something breaks we record the error message, a technical stack trace, which screen you were on and an error code. Without it we do not learn that the app failed you.
Your device's notification token, but only if you turn notifications on. It is removed when you sign out or turn them off.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, advertising identifiers, or anything about your use of other apps and websites. There is no advertising and no third-party analytics.
What the app shows you
Your boats, the service history of those boats, your More Vacation Program points account, and the documents you are a party to — contract, insurance and registration. All of it is filtered on our servers: the app receives only what belongs to you.
Amounts are deliberately absent from the service history. What the work cost us is not part of what the app shows.
Stored on your phone
The app keeps a copy of your profile on your device so it works without a network — in a marina, or at sea. It is cleared when you sign out. Usage or error reports that could not be sent are also kept on the device until they can be.
Who else sees it
- Google Firebase — sign-in, our servers and the database. Processed in the EU (europe-west1).
- Expo — delivers notifications to your phone, if you turned them on.
Both act on our instructions as processors. Nobody else receives your data, and we sell nothing to anybody.
How long we keep it
Usage and error records are deleted automatically after 90 days.
Your sign-in exists as long as you have access to the programme. The business records behind it — your contract, your boat, your points account — are More Sailing's own records and are kept for as long as accounting and contract law requires, whether or not you use the app.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
Deleting your account is built into the app: My boat → Delete account. It removes your sign-in. It does not, and cannot, remove your contract, your boat or your points account — those are business records we are required to keep, and the app says so before it asks.
The sign-in is shared by More Sailing's apps. If the same sign-in is also used as More Sailing staff or crew, for salary reporting (moreSalary), in More Learning or in the More Guest app, or it also signs in another way, such as with Google, deletion is refused and nothing is deleted — it would otherwise disappear there too. In that case, write to yachtowner@moresailing.com and we will help you.
Changes
Material changes are communicated to owners by email, to the address the app signs in with.
